      Roy Drusky Biography

When it comes to the smooth sounds of country music, Roy Drusky was the unqualified master. A crooner with a smooth, mellow baritone, he was the epitome of the classic Nashville Sound of the 1960s, leading to him being dubbed 'the Perry Como of country music'. Though he never became a major pop-crossover country artist, his influence was immeasurable, especially in the UK, where he not only toured regularly, but also found his recordings covered by singers like Val Doonican, Miki & Griff and a myriad of country club performers.
Not only was he a prolific recording artist, releasing more than 35 albums in his 50-year career, but also a talented and successful songwriter penning hit songs for Faron Young, Teresa Brewer, Kitty Wells and many others. His best known hits Long, Long Texas Road, All My hard Times, The World Is Round, If The Whole World Stopped Lovin', Where The Blue And Lonely Go and Yes, Mr Peters, a chart-topping duet with Priscilla Mitchell, are all included in this career-defining collection, along with his unique renditions of classic country and pop songs.
